If you are moving to Portugal or spending part of the year in the country, opening a bank account with a Portuguese bank will help you manage your expenses and daily life.
With the account opening, you will have access to debit cards, domiciliation of domestic payments, wire transfers, etc., in addition to being able to access internet banking and manage your account anywhere.
We can help to make the process simpler, explain the procedures and the associated costs.
To open a Bank Account, some documents are required:
- ID (valid Passport or Citizen Card, if you are a citizen of the European Union);
- Tax Identification Number (TIN) of your country of residence and Portugal;
- Proof of address (for example, the lease that shows evidence of registration in the Taxes Authority, the Deed of Purchase and Sale of the property being purchased, the electricity, water or gas bill);
- If you are retired, declaration of that status from the country of origin.
- If you are working in Portugal, a statement from your employer may be required(for example, a salary receipt or an employment contract) or, if you are self-employed, the Declaration of Initiation of Activity.
